COVID-19 and Child Labour: A time of crisis, a time to act
For the first time, the annual meeting of the Child Labour Platform will take place virtually on November 24th, 2020 from 15:00 to 17:30 (CET). This year’s gathering is of unprecedented importance as COVID-19 could reverse 20 years of progress on the elimination of child labour, including in supply chains. The pandemic is also exposing new limitations of widely used compliance mechanisms in supply chains and underlining the importance of better partnerships with local actors.
To understand how this pandemic could transform businesses’ efforts, the Platform will bring together companies, influential multi-stakeholders initiatives, employers’ organisations, trade unions, and civil society to share their experiences and insights on the future of due diligence on child labour.
Interpretation will be available in English and French.
